Not quite a zoo, the Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary was established in 1996 to care for abandoned or abused animals. This non profit animal sanctuary is located in North Boston and is a short rental bus ride away. The Winslow Farm cares for alpacas, birds, cats, dogs, donkeys, goats, horses, llamas, pigs, rabbits and sheep. This sanctuary has a stay for life policy, where animals are allowed to live their lives out in peace, and also has a no kill policy, except in cases where the animal is too badly injured to be saved. The animals here may not be as glamorous as those in other zoos, but a visit to Winslow Farm helps provide for their upkeep.
